Handmade Keepsake Cards

Hi there all you crafty people!

Here is a bit about one of my favourite hobbies in the whole

world...Card making!

First of all I say one of my favourite hobbies, because my first

passion is all things nails...especially nail art.

I have my own mobile nail business called

Girlie Daze

and you can view my nail art on my business site at

www.Girlie-Daze.co.uk

Please have a look and get in touch with me if you would

 like to book an appointment.

Anyway enough about that part of my life I think.

Let me just tell you a bit about how I got in to card making.

I wanted to find something to do in the evenings when my

husband was at work and I have

always loved arts and crafts.  I was doing a lot of

cross stitch pictures around the same time and was bored

with it and fancied a change I suppose.

I noticed the craft show was on at the NEC in Birmingham

and thought, right then that'll be the perfect place to see

what's out there to choose from.

I went along with my Mom, Dad and elder sister and was

absolutely amazed and overwhelmed with all the craft stuff there

was there.  It was totally bewildering.  I bought a few

items to make cards from a stall that had really impressed me

and had a go when I got home.  I wasn't very good but

thought I'd go to the local craft shop in town and

ask their advice on what else

I could have a go at.

I went along and they were very helpful and gave me

some sound advice that I still use today...'Just experiment

and you'll find the right thing for you'.

I did just that and the rest is history!  If you are in any doubt

about whether you can achieve the same stunning

results as some of the designs on other websites,

remember what the craft shop told me and take

my advice too...Practice makes perfect.

Practice as often as you can, try new

 things and don't give up.

You'll get it right eventually!

Try my simple cards below or even just sticking a sticker

on to a card.  Sometimes the simplest designs are the best!

Give it a go you never know what you can

achieve until you try!

All the things I use to make my keepsake cards are available

to buy from this site too, so click on the link and go

and take a look for yourself.

The Bookatrix is my favourite to do as it is so

versatile and very effective.

I don't have the time to dedicate to card making now

though as I am busy with courses and starting the business,

but I do still do them for friends and family if they

need a special card for someone.

I have posted some pictures of some of my cards

on this site, so please take a look.

 Who knows, maybe you'll

be inspired.
